Logo designing competition for National Parks
The Department of Wildlife Conservation is hereby inviting interested
individuals to participate in the competition for designing logos for
the following national parks:
1. Yala, 2. Udawalawa, 3. Wilpattuwa, 4. Bundala, 5. Horton plains,
6. Wasgamuwa, 7. Minneriya, 8. Galoya, 9. Lunugamvehera, 10. Maduruoya,
11. Horagolla, 12. Hikkaduwa, 13. Somawathiya, 14. Angammedilla, 15.
Kumana, 16. Floodplains, 17. Lahugala Kitulana, 18. Ussangoda, 19.
Pigeon Island, 20, Kaudulla, 21. Galwaysland
Conditions for the competition
1. The competition is restricted to Sri Lankan citizens only. Each
competitor can submit any number of designs for each national park.
2. Designs should be focused on the geographical, archaeological and
biodiversity values of national parks. Therefore knowledge on all
aspects of each national park will be beneficial for competitors in
designing the logo.
3. Logos can be designed either by hand or by digital means.
4. If the logo is designed by hand, it should be submitted on A4 size
paper.
5. If the design is digital, it should be submitted in the following
formats:
a. A hard copy on a A4 size paper.
b. Digital copy of the design in JPG format with a resolution higher
than 300 dip in a CD. Additionally, designs should be submitted in PSD
format (if Photoshop is used) and in CDR format (if Coral Draw is
used)*.
(* If software other than above is used please specify and submit the
design in the basic format).
6. Interpretation or meanings of the symbols and colours used in the
design should be specified.
7. Design should not contain any symbol, icon or messages which
contradicts any cultural or religional belief of any race.
8. Competitors should present their own original designs and they
should not have been presented to any previous competitions or similar
events.
9. Designs presented to the competition will not be returned back.
10. The copyrights of the designs submitted for the competition will
be reserved for the Department of Wildlife Conservation and the
Department may use the selected designs for the purposes determined by
the Department.
11. The designs will be evaluated by a formal panel of judges and the
decision of the panel of judges will be final.
12. The winners will be awarded a cash price of Rs 10,000 for each
logo and a certificate.
13. The Department of Wildlife Conservation is not responsible for
any loss, damages of the designs prior to submission.
14. Submitting the design in time, in the correct format and in the
right packaging is the sole responsibility of the competitor.
15. The coupon shown below should be duly filled and affixed on the
reverse side of the design. Designs without this coupon or designs
submitted with photocopied, scanned or duplicated coupons and using any
other means will be rejected. One coupon is enough for all designs
submitted by the competitor.
16. On the top left hand corner of the cover containing the design
“Competition for designing logos for the national parks” should be
marked.
17. All creations should be sent to the head office of the Department
of Wildlife Conservation at, No. 811 A, Jayanthipura, Battaramulla, or
Regional Deputy Director’s offices and Assistant Directors’ offices or
to the offices of the national parks on or before July 11, 2011 by post
or hand delivered.
