Coconut saplings distributed

Two thousand six hundred coconut saplings were distributed among the devotees of the Sri Abhinawaramaya temple at Ginigathena in the Nuwara Eliya district by the Ginigathena North Rural Development Society in collaboration with the Coconut Development Authority to mark the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jayanthi.

The Chief Incumbent of Sri Abhinawarama temple Ven Muruthawela Piyaratana Thera delivering an anusasana said that with the planting of the coconut saplings which would bear fruit in three and half years, the devotees would be able to produce coconuts for their consumption.
