Roads carpeted

The Central Provincial Road Development Authority has commenced the carpeting of 32 rural and estate roads in the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Ambagamuwa, Kothmale, Nuwara Eliya, Walapane and Hanguranketha in the Nuwara Eliya district.

The Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has allocated Rs 6,798.3 million funded by the China Development Bank to develop these roads which were half constructed and was in a dilapidated state for the past several years.Meanwhile, the Road Development Authority (RDA) has resumed carpeting the three main roads ie. the Ambewela-Hortontenna road, the Thennekumbura-Hanguranketha road and the Hatton-Nallathanni road in the Nuwara Eliya district.
