President, Eastern Province CM meet today

Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP) leader and Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesaturei Chandrakanthan will meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa today, a TMVP media spokesman said.

Following reports of three alleged killings in Batticaloa a few days ago, a TMVP Provincial Council member and few supporters had been taken into custody by Police.

Police have also searched the office and official residence of the TMVP leader following the alleged incident.

Senior TMVP members had requested for a meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and were informed that the President would meet them this morning.
