The Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) will commence a unique training programme for the SMEs in the country in collaboration with Wayamba University. ISB Director S Neelakanthan told Daily News Business that the objective is to provide practical management skills to the SME sector to enhance their productivity. The programme titled Entrepreneurship Development Diploma will commence on June 4 at the Wayamba University and classes will be held on every Saturday from 9am. to 5 pm.

He said that there won't be any examinations to the participants but assessments will be done through assignments which will be a practical issue in their own companies. It will be supported by the lecture panel.

The ISB has observed that it is necessary to educate and upgrade SMEs on how to do business professionally to compete in the global market enhancing productivity.

The course will cover areas such as business management, marketing, and financial management.
