Special trains during Vesak

The Sri Lanka Railways will operate special train services from May 16 to 20 to cater to the public during the 2600th Sri Sambuddathva Jayanthi and Vesak season. The date, departure and arrival station and time are as follows: May 16 - Matara 2.25 pm., Anuradhapura 12 midnight, Colombo Fort 1.15 pm., Anuradhapura 6.55 p.m., Colombo Fort 6 p.m., Anuradhapura 11.30 p.m.

May 17 - A'pura 8.30 p.m., Colombo Fort 1.20 a.m. (following day), Mahawa 3 a.m., A'pura 4.36 a.m., A'pura 3 p.m., Colombo Fort 4.10 p.m. (following day), Vavuniya 4.30 p.m., A'pura 5.45 p.m. May 17 and 18 - 6.40 a.m. Colombo Fort 9.42 p.m., Colombo Fort 11.15 p.m., Rambukkana 1.36 a.m. (following day). May 17 and 19 - Aluthgama 8.30 p.m., Maradana 11.34 p.m., May 18 - A'pura 8.20 a.m., Colombo Fort 1.10 p.m., A'pura 1.15 p.m., Colombo Fort 6.25 p.m. May 18 and 20 - Maradana 12 midnight Aluthgama 2.12 a.m. In addition to this, additional compartments will be added to the Colombo-Fort-Trincomalee and Trincomalee- Colombo Fort Night Mail trains, Matara-Medawachchiya and Medawachchiya-Matara trains and Colombo Fort-Thaddikulam trains.

All express, intercity and night mail trains on May 17 and 18 will stop over at Kelaniya Railway Station.
