Sil for Sambuddathva Jayanthi

Jaffna Security Forces Headquarters has organized a sil campaign to mark the 2600th Sambuddathva Jayanthi where over 1200 male and female army personnel will observe sil.

The sil campaign will be held on Sunday from 6 am to 6 pm near the Bo tree at the Jaffna Security Forces Headquarters premises.

Security Forces Head Quarters Jaffna Commander Major General Mahinda Hathurisinghe also observe sil along with the officers and other ranks at the sil campaign which is organized to invoke blessings for lasting peace.

Statues of the 28 Buddhas will be open which is set up around the Bo tree in the Jaffna Headquarters premises.

A number of monks and lay scholars from temples and universities will participate in the sil campaign to preach the Dhamma.
