Pre-school for Palliyagodella

Muslim Aid Sri Lanka (MASL) ceremoniously handed over a newly built pre-school constructed by them in Palliyagodella-Medirigiriya DS division in the Polonnaruwara district on April 29.

The Chief Guest was the Hingurakgoda Zonal Education Director P B Jeyawarthana.

The opening of the school marks a new beginning for the Palliyagodella village which had been severely affected by the war, causing deaths to hundreds of villagers and forcing others to flee.

On the request of the community, Muslim Aid Sri Lanka constructed this pre-school which can house 25 children in a classroom. A Principal's office and a Grama Niladhari office were also built.

The pre-school which is a co-educational school has three teachers who conduct their lessons in Tamil.

MASL has completed work on another pre- school in Trincomalee district and is constructing another in Batticaloa district.
