Trinity in 38-10 victory

Trinity College compensated for their last week's defeat at the hands of Science College by recording a comprehensive 38 points (4 goals and 2 tries) to 10 ( 1 goal and a penalty) win over St Joseph's in their Singer under 20 League rugger tournament match at Longden Place yesterday.

The winners led 21-3 at half time.

The Joes displayed some resistance in the first half, but lost control after lemons for the Trinitians to dominate play. However, the Joes scored a penalty try through Piyum Jayasinghe and R Thiyagarajah added the extra points. For Trinity, centre Kanil Seneviratne touched down thrice while Shashen Mohammed (2) and Kevin 'cheese' Bandara (1) scored the other tries which were converted by Rehan Weerakoon.
