Prestigious award for Sri Lanka in Thailand
The World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth Sri Lanka received the Highest
Decoration of Excellence from the Royal Thai government, recognising the
importance of contributing towards the prosperity of Buddhism.
The committee of Religion, Arts and Culture of the House of
Representatives of Thailand awarded the Buddhagunupakan, the Highest
Decoration of Excellence award to honour and signify the admirable
service in the betterment of Buddhism.
The committee also recognised the organisation's devotion, dedication
and commitment for Buddhism's prosperity. The ceremony was held on April
23 at the Maha Chulalongkomraja Vidyalaya University in Thailand,
Supreme Sangha Council President Most Ven. Somdej Phra Buddhajam thera.
A six-member delegation from the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth Sri
Lanka headed by President Ratnasiri Mutukumara, advisor Kanthie Perera,
Vice President Malathiemala Dodangoda and Lalitha Perera, Kusum
Mutukumarana and Isuru Udyoga Dodangoda visited Thailand to participate
in the ceremony. |
