Darusman Report tarnishes Lanka’s image - Army Commander

Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya said that the controversial Darusman Report ruins and tarnishes the image of Sri Lanka since it is biased and incorrect.

The Army Commander was addressing Army personnel at the Welikanda Security Forces Headquarters yesterday.

The Darusman report is biased and it undermines the efforts of security forces personnel who made greater contribution for the peace and harmony in the county.

He added that he went through the report carefully and noticed that the report is incorrect ad biased. Moreover, the allegations are baseless.

The report is totally incorrect as it has considered only one party, he stressed.

However, this biased report causes a huge damage to the country’s image, the President, Defence Secretary and Security Forces at large.

Lieutenant General Jayasuriya was the commander of the Security Forces Headquarters in Vanni at the time humanitarian mission was going on.

He stressed that he is aware of the humanitarian mission conducted in accordance with the internationally accepted rules and regulations.

Therefore the Army Commander rejected the controversial Darusman report mentioning the allegations and facts are incorrect and biased.
