The minister said that the Ministry will absorb more national level
athletes in the future to get their assistance in training the
Ministry's staff.
According to this initiative, national level athletes who face
economic difficulties will be recruited to the permanent cardre of the
Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB). While at CEB they are allowed to
participate in national and international sporting events to bring glory
to both the CEB and the country.
Rohan Pradeep Kumara who leads CEB's athletic team said that it is an
invaluable service for athletes to be absorbed to the permanent cardre
after evaluating their national level achievements as many face
financial difficulties. This would lead to the private and public
institutions recruiting more athletes to their institutions, he added. |
