Campaign to obtain one million signatures

The Fort Traders' Association launched a campaign to obtain one million signatures against the controversial Darusman Report from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm yesterday.

The campaign commenced at railway stations in Fort, Maradana and Slave Island. A large number participated in signing the petition, denouncing the Darusman Report. Fort Traders' Association spokesman Nishan Darmawikrama said that it was expected to get over 25,000 signatures in Fort alone.

President's Advisor and Deshapremi Bhikku Peramuna secretary Ven Bengamuwe Nalaka Nayaka Thera, President's Additional Secretary Palitha Gamage, from Temple to Village Coordinator Ven Kotapola Mangala Thera and Fort station master M L Chandrasoma were among the signatories
