To unveil strategies for service organizations:
Top Indian professor at ICASL seminar
One of India's foremost professors, B. Mahadevan of the Indian
Institute of Management, Bangalore, will elucidate insightful strategies
for service organizations during a one day seminar scheduled to be held
on May 5, 2011, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of
Sri Lanka (ICASL).
The seminar will focus on enabling top corporate personnel in
financial services, manufacturing, hospitality and tourism, travel,
healthcare and ICT to understand the conceptual and strategic issues
pertaining to service aspects of business while relating it to practice.
During the seminar, Prof. Mahadevan, rated as one of the top five
professors at IIM Bangalore, will provide insights and management
strategies for service organizations, while outlining directions in
which growth options are explored in the services domain.
The primary objectives of the programme is to sensitize participants
to the critical differences between managing service organisations vs.
products/manufacture and the implications of this, while highlighting
the necessity to introduce a few of the viable strategies for pricing of
services, discuss challenges in managing service quality and to
illustrate trajectories for service oriented growth strategies.
The seminar is specially designed to enable participants understand
conceptual and strategic issues pertaining to service aspects of
business and relate it to practice.
The ICASL decided to conduct a seminar on such a unique subject
having understood the importance of service economy which is undergoing
significant growth the world over, during the last decade.
