Another 50 NHDA houses in Kilinochchi

Another 50 houses constructed under the Jana Sevana Housing Development Program was opened by Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa at Ariviyalnagar in the Kilinochchi District last Friday.

The Government has provided a 40 perch land for each family to build houses in addition to a Rs 350,000 interest free loan. The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) is providing technical assistance to construct the houses. The main Objective of the Government under the Jana Sevana Project is to provide a house to every family.

Meanwhile, the (NHDA) Mullaitivu office branch was also opened on the same day by Minister Weerawansa. The building was constructed at a cost of Rs 10 million.

The NHDA branch is the first Government office to be built in the area after the defeat of terrorism.

Resettlement Minister Gunaratne Weerakoon, Deputy Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitheran and NHDA Chairman Jayantha Samaraweera were also present.
