Unethical move perpetrated by forces having wicked intentions - SLMP
The Sri Lanka Mahajana Pakshaya (SLMP) in a press release issued
yesterday condemned the appointment of the controversial Darusman Panel
and the publication of its report as an unethical move perpetrated by
forces having wicked intentions.
The release signed by the SLMP General Secretary Dr Ranjith Navaratne
said a glimpse at the actions taken by the UN Secretary General in
recent times proves that he has acted according to economic and
political needs and time tables of imperialist nations to precipitate
long-term crises in smaller countries.
The defeat of LTTE terrorism by Security Forces under the leadership
of President Mahinda Rajapaksa spelt doom to the imperialist and
communalist forces which made a desperate effort to save the LTTE
leadership during the last stages of the war. The appointment of the
Darusman Committee was a last ditch attempt by these forces to achieve
their sinister objective of dividing Sri Lanka under the guise of
protecting so called human rights.
We should clearly understand these imperialist motives arrived at
creating crises and establishing a puppet regime in Sri Lanka which is
moving towards development with communal unity and amity as a sovereign
return after defeating terrorism. The SLMP would request all Sri Lankans
to join hands shelving all petty differences to protect the independence
and sovereignty of the motherland.
