Lanka eNews journalist remanded

Pugoda Magistrate and District Judge Kumari N Abeyratne remanded Lanka eNews journalist Shantha Wijesuriya till April 28 when he was produced before her by the Kirindiwela Police yesterday.

Wijesuriya was arrested by Police on April 25 on a warrant issued by Pugoda Magistrate Aravinda Perera following charges levelled against him for contempt of Court by publishing a false report in the eNews website about the Court proceedings regarding the alleged murder of Amarasinghe Arachchige David (47) of Siyambalagahawatta, Pepiliyawala while he was in the custody of the Kirindiwela Police.
