Further talks on pension fund

The National Labour Advisory Committee (NLAC) met the Treasury officials who were responsible for drafting the Bill for the proposed pension fund yesterday following a request made to the President by Employers Federation of Ceylon (EFC) officials and other relevant parties.

EFC Director General Ravi Peiris told Daily News Business that all the issues concerned with this Bill were discussed at length and the Treasury officials agreed to submit a new draft for the Bill to the NLAC without delay to enable them to go through the changes before it is submitted for the second reading in Parliament. The meeting was chaired by the Labour Minister.
