Agriculture Ministry to decorate two roads

The Agriculture Ministry will decorate two roads from Gannoruwa to Peradeniya, To mark the 2600 th Sambuddhathva Jayanthi, Agriculture Ministry Additional Secretary Shantha Amithiyagoda said.

Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana has requested his officials to launch the Vesak Programme with a Vesak lanterns competition. The Additional Secretary said the centenary of the Agriculture Department falls in 2012. Therefore the Ministry hopes to acquire blessings for their Department through this religious event.

The Ministry invites all those willing to participate to join them. He said that they need Vesak lanterns to decorate the two roads for a distance of around five kilometer each.
