Ohio passes anti-Union Bill
US: The House of Representatives of the State of Ohio approved
an anti-union bill aimed at reducing the budgetary expenditures and
demanding adjustments in health care, pensions and salaries in state
sectors.
The Bill was passed despite the claims of thousands of public
workers, students, policemen, firemen, among others, determined to keep
protesting until their collective bargaining rights are respected. Under
Republican control, the House of Representatives adopted the regulation
after a vote of 17 in favour and 16 against. Before it is implemented by
Governor John Richard Kasich it must be approved by the Senate, which is
expected to pass it without difficulties.
According to USA Today newspaper, the Democrats had no amendments to
the bill, they just handed over more than 65,000 signatures expressing
discontent. Washington, Thursday, Prensa Latina |
