Navy search for missing sailors

The Sri Lanka Navy is conducting a search operation in the seas North off Mullaitivu for four missing sailors.

Navy Spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya told the Daily News that four sailors went missing at sea between Chundikulam and Chalei North of Mullaitivu Tuesday evening. The Navy commenced the search operation after the incident was revealed.

He added that the dingy boat they were sailing was found yesterday morning.

Commander Warnakulasooriya stated that the four sailors were carrying general requirements such as food and beverages to the Chalei detachment around seven nautical miles from Chundikulam.
