Softlogic enhances Dell experience through Concept Store
Softlogic Information Technologies subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings
said the Dell Concept store in Colombo is entering new heights of a
retail shopping experience.
The Dell Concept Store will sanction customers to view and engage
with the latest Dell offerings - PC, notebooks, and netbooks.

Softlogic Information Technologies also acts as the sole dealer for
Dell consumer laptops in Sri Lanka.
The store features notebooks, desktops, servers, printers and other
products from Dell, and staffed by specialists trained specifically on
Dell products and applications. In addition to selling Inspiron products
for home use, the store demonstrates Dell Vostro products and servers
designed specifically to help simplify IT for the corporate and Small
and Medium Businesses.
Softlogic Information Technologies Director and CEO Roshan Rassool
said, "the strategic partnership with Dell is extremely significant for
the business.
"The partnership with Dell provides us vibrant opportunities to
increase our share in the consumer and our corporate market. Sri Lanka
has reached an IT literacy level of more than 30 percent at present, it
is in this context we enhance the experience of our concept stores, a
unique digital experience is offered to our local customers," he said.
The Dell Concept Store is a step in building direct contact with
customers while strengthening the brand amongst a wider consumer base in
Sri Lanka.
The store displays a full line of Dell products currently include
Dell Inspiron, Studio XPS, Alienware, Mini Notebook, Design Studio and
All in one PCs.
SLIIT's contribution to IT sector hailed
Higher Education Minister S B Dissanayake highlighted the importance
of raising the bar of IT and English in the country through focused
training for university students.

"I am aware of the services rendered to the nation by SLIIT,
especially when it comes to Information Technology," the Minister said
at the SLIIT convocation.
"Our IT exports have become the fifth largest export earner in the
country, and IT is now becoming a popular subject among schoolchildren.
SLIIT has contributed in no small measure to such achievements, and
singlehandedly produced 5000 graduates and another 15,000 IT
professionals, contributing almost 50 percent of all high level IT
professionals in the country, and this has been achieved without any
assistance from the government," he said.
"It has been brought to my awareness that SLIIT staff have written
the school text General Information Technology for advanced students at
no cost to the government, and over 10,000 copies of this book is being
used in schools, with over 300 school teachers having received training
by SLIIT to obtain the teachers diploma in IT."
The Institute witnessed 813 students graduate this year with B.Sc.
and M.Sc. degrees, the highest number to graduate in one year to date.
zMessenger partners Sri Lanka Cricket
zMessenger entered into an agreement with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to
develop and transmit mobile based value added services to Cricket
devoted fans of Sri Lanka all around the world.
The agreement was signed between zMessenger (Pvt) Ltd. and Sri Lanka
Cricket at an event held in Colombo recently. The "Hit Cricket Show"
telecast on Rupavahini will be aired every Friday from 7.00 to 8.00 p.m
starting from 25th March 2011, targeted at all ages, gender, geography
of people who are enthusiastic about cricket.
The TV program is presented by Kelum Srimal, Akalanka Ganegama,
Saranga Disasekara and Charika Wanigasekara adding a new dimension of
entertainment.
