Amaya Leisure appoints new GM

Qualified hotelier Samantha Ratnayake has been appointed the General Manager of Amaya Hills, Kandy and Langdale Resort and Spa, Nuwara-Eliya. He has gained most of his management experience in tourism by serving Amaya Hills, Kandy over a long period of time.

He is a member of the Institute of Hospitality, UK (formerly HCIMA) and counts over 15 years experience in the trade. He was educated in Dharmaraja College, Kandy until he completed his studies there doing the Advance Level examination successfully. He continued his studies and obtained the Diploma in Accountancy. After that, he entered into the field of hospitality by joining the Heritance Kandalama and that experience promoted him to work in the Maldives. Back in Sri Lanka, he accepted the responsibilities as an Accountant in Amaya Hills, Kandy. After that, with the wealth of experience behind him having held the positions of Assistant Manager and Manager of Amaya Hills till the year 2010.

In 2011, he proved his talents by undertaking all the responsibilities of managing, planning and executing the refurbishment and rehabilitation of the Langdale Resort and Spa, Nuwara-Eliya.
