Police commemorates 147th Police Heroes Day

The 147th Police Heroes Day was celebrated yesterday at the Police grounds at the Field Force Headquarters, Colombo under the patronage of Inspector General of Police Mahinda Balasuriya.

The ceremony also commemorated 3,085 Police personnel who sacrificed their lives for the motherland during the past 147 years.

The heroes included the Police and Special Task Force personnel who sacrificed lives during the operations against the terrorists as well. Police war heroes dependents received gift packs at the ceremony.

In parallel to this ceremony, commemoration ceremonies were held at each Police Division Headquarters. IGP Mahinda Balasuriya at the commemoration ceremony.
