Suspect nabbed with illicit cardamom haul

Colombo North Police Division Vice Squad Sunday arrested a man who had imported inferior cardamom worth Rs one million from Saudi Arabia, sources said. The Vice Squad arrested the suspect from Grandpass in his residence and seized 39 boxes of cardamom.

The Police also said that the seized cardamom included three varieties. Each kilo was worth around Rs 5,000. The Police conducted the raid following information received by SP Palitha Siriwardene.
