ANCL branch in Ratnapura

A new branch office of Lake House (ANCL) was opened at Ratnapura yesterday in line with the Mahinda Chintana policy of widening the people's right to information.

The opening ceremony held under the patronage of Ratnapura Mayor Chandradasa Jayasinghe was attended by Lake House Editorial Director Seelaratne Senarath, Dinamina Chief Editor Mahinda Abeysundera and several other Senior Managers of Lake House. The Branch office will sell Lake House newspapers and periodicals and have facilities to accept subscriber advertisements.

A provincial editor has also been appointed to the branch to co-ordinate the publication of news endemic to the Ratnapura district.

Editorial Director Seelaratne Senarath addressing the gathering said the President has taken a policy decision to provide modern facilities to media persons including computers and IT and internet facilities. In keeping with the policy, Lake House will provide its provincial correspondents with lap top computers.

Dinamina Chief Editor Mahinda Abeysundera said a vast majority of readers have reposed great faith and confidence in Lake House and its publications.

Provincial Correspondents rendered a great service towards the country's development effort, he said.
