Condemnation
* Arbitrary intervention by West
* Disrespect of Libyan people's rights
* Large number of innocent people killed
Sri Lanka's working class irrespective of class, creed or racial
differences have voiced their anger over the multi pronged attack
unleashed by the Western powers and the United States on Libya to grab
its oil resources in contravention of all norms and ethics upheld by the
world community.
According to Western Province Governor and Trade union leader Alavi
Mowlana the working class of Sri Lanka is to launch a massive protest
campaign in Colombo demanding the United States and the Western
countries stop bombing Libya forthwith. The Governor added that anti
imperialists organizations in Sri Lanka will organize its initial
campaign in protest of arbitrary intervention by the Western forces led
by United States, at the Colombo Grand Mosque at Colombo 12 on March 25.

He was of the view that the people of Libya has the supreme power
with regard to changing of their leadership and no outsider has legal or
ethical authority in meddling with their supreme right.
He said that a large number of innocent people are being killed on
the orders of Obama. “He has become the IGW (Inspector General of the
World)” the Governor said.
This plot started from Iraq and by now it had spread to 44 countries.
We should make our younger generation aware of this international
American led malignant forces that are interfering in other countries
with ulterior motives.
He further pointed out that Ban Ki Moon is trying to send a teem to
check whether human rights were violated, but where were they when LTTE
violated human rights of country’s majority population.
Presidential Adviser A H M Azwar said that people who are speaking of
human rights day in and day out are breaching, violating those rights.
Therefore we in Sri Lanka would create a voice to the world to stop
bombing Libya. This is the enormous voice of the world community. |
