Air Force Commander calls on Mahanayake Thera

It is happy to note that a clever person with vast experience who actively made contributions to defeat terrorism has been appointed as Air Force Commander, said the Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter Ven Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita.

The Mahanayake Thera made this observation when Air Force Commander Air Marshall Harsha Abeywickrema visited him to obtain blessings at the Asgiriya Maha Vihara yesterday morning.

The Mahanayake Thera also said that he was deeply grieved that two aricraft which were undergoing training for a display on the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Air Force, met with an accident and were destroyed with one of the pilots killed.

The Ven Thera wished that the Air Force will be in a position to ensure the security of all and make contribution to ensure the future development of the country.

The new Air Force Commander visited the Sri Dalada Maligawa and had a discussion with Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela.
