Innings win for Sylvestrians

St Sylvester’s College, Kandy put up their best performance this season when they beat Revatha Vidyalaya, Balapitiya by an innings and 162 runs in their schools under 19 cricket match concluded at the Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegala yesterday.

The Sylvestrian batting first played positive cricket to score 339 for 9 declared in only 61 overs. Waruna Wijesinghe top scored with 109 which included 15 fours and a six.

Revatha Vidyalaya in their turn at the wickets were dismissed for 99 Off spinner Dushan Malalesena took 4 for 35 and Miluka Kandaderage 3 for 25.

St Sylvester’s College 339 for 9 wickets decl. in 61 overs (Faiz Ahamed 67, Waruna Wijesinghe 107, Dushan Malalasena 48 not out, Miluka Kandaderage 26, Menuka Nanayakkara 14, Hansamal Perera 25, Buddhika Madushan 3 for 100, Mohamed Insaf 3 for 40.

Revatha Vidyalaya 99 all out in 45 overs (Kasun Nadeera 17, Nuwan Buddhika 20, Shane Maduranga 27, Miluka Kandaderage 3 for 25, Dushan Malalasena 5 for 35, Faiz Ahamed 2 for 1) and 63 all out in 31 overs (Dilshan Soysa 32, Dushan Malalasena 3 for 13, Nimesha Mendis 6 for 22).
