Arrested

The Polgahawela Police arrested a suspect with 250 bottles of kasippu spirit at Ebalawattha in Pothuhera police division on Monday (28). The distilleries in Polgahawela and Pothuhera areas have been maintained for a long period.

The raid had been conducted by a team of police officers headed by OIC Sugeewa Bandaranayake. He was produced before the Polgahawela Magistrate and remanded until March 9, 2011.
