Kingswood in first innings win

Kingswood College gained a first innings win over Kalutara Vidyalaya in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match played at the Kalutara Esplanade yesterday.

Highlight of the match was the off cutters bowling of Harshana James for Kalutara Vidyalaya who captured 6 for 69 and 5 for 31 in the second innings to end up with a match-bag of 11 for 101.

For Kingswood College Lakshitha made an unbeaten 108 out of a total of 196 which brought them this first innings win.

Kingswood College: 196 and 130 for 9 declared in 57.2 overs (Mahesh Dunukara 35, D Medawatte 21, M Unamboowe 26, Harshana James 5 for 31, M Sangeeth 4 for 52). Kalutara Vidyalaya: 72 for 5 overnight continued 155 all out in 63.3 overs (Rasintha Madushan 33, Upeksha Jayawickrema 32 n.o, Anushka Fernando 32, Y Athukorale 3 for 29, Lakmal Hettiarachchi 2 for 50, D Medawatte 3 for 24) and 39 for 1 in 12 overs (S Chamara 19 n.o).
