Pedestrian stabs cop

A policeman was stabbed by a pedestrian who refused to adhere to the rules to cross the road at the Zebra crossing.

The incident occurred at Dalada Street, Kandy.

The policeman who prevented the pedestrian from crossing the road was stabbed in the ear and was admitted to the Kandy General Hospital.

The PC who is a resident of Ampara is attached to the Kandy Traffic Police.

The suspect (Pedestrian) lodged a police complaint alleging that the PC had assaulted him.
