Businessman abducted

Three persons of a gang who had abducted a businessman and taken his gold valued at Rs 1.22 million and fled, had been nabbed by the Puttalam Police together with part of the gold consignment and a three-wheeler used for the abduction.

This looting had been done on February 24 night at the Puttalam Town and the three suspects together with various items and the three-wheeler were taken into custody in the same night.

The businessman had told the Police that while he was taking the gold to the Puttalam town four persons came in a three-wheeler and robbed the gold after assaulting him.

One of the suspects had managed to escape. Police are conducting further investigations.
