Pakistanis back Arab world revolutions
Pakistan: Hundreds of angry protesters in the Pakistani city of
Karachi have taken to the streets to show their solidarity and support
for pro-democracy movements across the Arab world.Calling for an end to
“Western interference in the Muslim world,” the demonstrators rallied in
front of the Karachi Press Club on Sunday and condemned the brutal
government crackdown on popular protests on the streets of Libya, Yemen
and Bahrain, a Press TV correspondent reported.
“We are here to show solidarity with the people of Bahrain, Yemen and
Libya… and we condemn the brutality of their puppet regimes, who are
trying to crack down on unarmed and peaceful people through live bullets
by the mercenaries’ armies,” said Aftab Jafri, a senior member of
Jafaria Alliance Pakistan.
As the awakening of Arab nations continues, the passive response of
the US and other Western countries to these democratic movements and
their continuous focus in maintaining the status quo in Arab countries
is increasingly under scrutiny. Thursday, Press tv
