KBA marks 66th anniversary

The Founder's Day, January 29, 1945 of the Kandy Buddhist Association
(KBA) was commemorated to mark the 66th anniversary of the Association
in the KBA Hall on D S Senanayake Veediya, Kandy recently.
The KBA is a premier organization in Kandy with a history of over 6
decades, was established during the 2nd World War.
Dutch national Bikkhu Dhammapala in lay life Henry Van Zeyst in Kandy
pioneered the founding of the Association. It was formed for the
diffusion of the Dhamma to the troops of various nationalities stationed
in Kandy through lectures, talks and discussions. The fundamental
objective had been to impart the teachings of the Buddha to the public
and promote and foster social activities.
The Association has not only promoted these traditions but in keeping
with its motto 'Kammah Bhaveti Anagath' has activated its members to
implement many programs.
