English for Life Skills program:

Nearly 4,350 English teachers trained

The Education Department of the Western Province has trained 4,350 English teachers under the 'English for Life Skills' program during 118 workshops of 10 days duration each, last year and the Regional English Department (Western) is expected to train 150 more English teachers in 4 batches at 4 difference teacher centers, said Director of English (Western Province), Gamini Abeydheera to the 'Daily News' during an inquiry.

The next training programs are expected to commence at the Teacher centers of Jayawardenapura, in Colombo, Kalubowila and Miuwnagoda, initiated by the Presidential Task Force and the National Institute of Education, before March this year.
