Three TN politicians denied entry
Sri Lanka denied entry to Viduthalai Chiruthaigal President Thol
Thirumavalavan and two other Tamil Nadu politicians when they arrived at
the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday morning.
According to Controller General of Immigration and Emigration W.A.C.
Perera, they were not allowed to enter the country as they failed to
explain their purpose of their visit.
"They have failed to give adequate details with regard to their visit
to Sri Lanka when they were asked by department officials based at the
BIA", he said.
Perera said this has purely led to their denial of entry to the
country.
Meanwhile, reports from India said that Thol Thirumavalavan was
arrested by Chennai Police, yesterday for protesting opposite the Sri
Lankan Deputy High Commission.
He was among other protestors who were arrested by the Indian Police.
