Unknown assailants have blown up a stadium and a school in northwestern Pakistan, where Government troops are fighting militants in a tribal region bordering Afghanistan.Suspected Taliban-linked militants destroyed a stadium on Saturday by detonating explosives in the Bara area of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tribal region, Press Trust of India news agency reported.

UN veto is an insult to the world - Iran

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the fact that some countries have a veto at the UN Security Council is an insult to other nations and the world governing system must be reformed.Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle in Tehran in the early hours of Sunday morning, IRNA reported.

High tides flood Marshalls Capital

Extreme high tides have flooded parts of the low-lying Marshall Islands capital Majuro with a warning Sunday of worse to come because of rising sea levels. Several areas of the city were flooded Saturday and forecasters predicted more to come on Sunday evening before the current high tide levels ease.
