Agricultural exhibition and trade fair at Ampara

AG BIZ East 2011:

The USAID / CORE project and the National Agribusiness Council joined with the assistance of the Eastern Province Agriculture Provincial Ministry to hold the AG BIZ East 2011 exhibition at Ampara. This is to uplift the agricultural knowledge of the farmers with the latest technologies and to build up the linkages between the farmers and the other stakeholders of the agribusiness sector.

The great success of the AG BIZ East exhibition held last year in Trincomalee laid the foundation for a similar exhibition at Ampara, on the request of the Eastern Provincial Council and the farmers of Ampara district.

The USAID/CORE project and the National Agribusiness Council signed an MoU to this effect at the CORE project office, for a second regional Agricultural Exhibition of ‘AG BIZ 2011’. The exhibition is scheduled to be held in late April at Ampara.

Local and international key players in Agriculture would be participating in this exhibition, to held under the slogan Re-awakening East.
