LOLC results outstanding
Profits top Rs 7.1 billion in nine months:
LOLC has continued to show exceptional
performance recording outstanding pre-tax profits of Rs 7.1 billion
for the nine months to December. This is a 485 percent growth over
last year, with the financial services sector, trading sector and
the other sectors contributing exceptionally well. The financial
services sector showed excellent performance with pre-tax profits of
Rs 5.5 billion, a growth of 354 percent over last year.

Sala Enterprises mulls new ventures
Sala Enterprises is looking at possibilities to
manufacture motherboard, mouse and casings in Sri Lanka with the
assistance of a Chinese manufacturer. The company is at preliminary
stage discussions about setting up factories in Sri Lanka which will
help in manufacturing these products, Sala Enterprises and Sala Geo
Information System Managing Director Chinthaka Wijewickrama told
Daily News Business. Sala Enterprises is in the process of
developing an equipment similar to the Ipad and further experiments
pertaining to this product are taken place.
