A police constable serving at the Anuradhapura Headquarters police station who had robbed purses and mobile phones of four police constables, was nabbed by the policemen and handed over to the police complaint section for investigation.

The constable was apprehended while trying to withdraw money from the ATM card stolen from the policeman.

The policeman had stolen Rs 5,000 withdrawn from a policeman's account, three mobile phones and four purses.

However sources said the constable had been transferred to the Talawa police station without any action being taken.
