Line Vandijck Pre-School:

From Belgium with love

Line Vandijck Pre-School in Thuntalawa close to Paleegala about five kilomtres off Eheliyagoda, is different from other remote area pre schools as classes are conducted free of charge.

Eheliyagoda former PS member W A Dharmadasa, the coordinator of this pre-school established by the Sri Lanka-Beligum Friendship Association in 2007, said poor income group families in the area benefit from this school.

Pre school teacher Ramanie Nishanthie said this pre-school was built on allocations made by Belgian couple John and Line Vandijick for the well being of the poor students in the area. The students are provided uniforms, shoes, bags, books as well as a nutritious lunch free of charge by the Association. The teachers pay is also made from allocations by the couple.
