Rs One m house for homeless family

A house worth nearly one million rupees was donated to a homeless family in the Moneragala area under the guidance of Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa on February 10.

The house has been constructed by the Moneragala Divisional Office of the Geological Research and Mine Bureau under the direction of Bureau Chairman Dr NP Vijayananda.

The 10 perche land to construct the house was donated by the Forest Conservation Department.

The recipient family was selected with the cooperation of the Moneragala Divisional Secretariat.

Coconut Development Minister Jagath Pushpakumara, Dr NP Vijayananda and Central Environment Authority Chairman Dr Charitha Herath participated at the ceremony.
