What mind power is
While in Melbourne I picked up a few books that I found interesting
and would like you to share my impressions with you. One of the books is
titled Mind Power into the 21st Century with a tag Techniques to harness
the Astounding Powers of Thought.
The 150-page book is written by John Kehoe with a Foreword by Robin
Banks. It is a Canadian publication.
As Robin Banks says: “We have at our disposal the most incredible
mechanism known to man, our own mind.”
I think that this book can help us understand our own ‘Self’ with a
purpose. In other words the book helps us guiding us in specific and
practical ways. Samples of these:
How to:
Harness the powers of our subconscious mind
Tap into our creativity
Successfully use visualization techniques
Improve our self-image
Interpret our dreams
Heal ourselves
Develop a ‘prosperity consciousness’
Build and maintain fulfilling relationships
In other words this book is also another guide to Successful Living,
but it is also specially dealing with the ‘Mind’
Quoting from William James (father of identification of the ‘stream
of consciousness technique and brother of Henry James, the writer) –
“The power to move the world is in your subconscious mind” – the author
writes on the ‘Subconscious Mind’.

I gleaned the following from this chapter:
The subconscious mind controls and orchestrates our bodily functions.
It has recorded every event that has ever happened to us.
The subconscious is creative, prolific and ever read to serve us.
When we unite mentally and emotionally with the good we wish to
embody, the creative powers of our subconscious will respond
accordingly. Our habitual thinking and imagery mould our reality and
create our ultimate destiny.
Another chapter is on self-image. Let’s see what it is all about.
We are unique. We should proclaim through our actions and daily
thinking.
We are capable of doing anything. We have to put our mind to it.
We have unlimited power- the ability to choose our thoughts. We can
create, build and strengthen any area of our life
Self-love is very important. Once we accept ourselves, we can explore
some of the other ‘selves’ we might want to become
A dream is another subject that fascinates most of us. As the famous
psychologist Carl Jung said “Dreams will show you where you are and
where you are going. They reveal your destiny.”
Death in a dream usually means change, transition, the end of one
part of our life and the beginning of another.
John Kehoe’s book was first published as early as in 1996 and it has
seen fifth printing in 2009. You may find it useful if you want to
improve yourself.
There is another book I would like you to read or consult. But want
of time to read it fully, I give below the blurb in the book that
introduces itself. The book is called simply Secret and it is compiled
by Rhonda Byrne. The book is published by Atria Books.
Copyright restrictions prevent me to quote from the book. But I shall
reproduce the blurb that speaks itself of what the book is all about:
“The centuries-old Secret has been understood b y some of the
prominent in history. Plato, Galileo, Beethoven, Edison, Carnegie,
Einstein – along with other inventors, theologians, scientists, and
great thinkers.”
