Prabath puts Lumbini on top

Left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya took 7 for 73 to help Lumbini Maha Vidyalaya, Colombo to dismiss Trinity College for 197 in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match which began at Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa yesterday. At close Lumbini had replied with 116 for 7. The match will be continued today at 9.30am.

Trinity’s innings was propped up by two good partnerships as otherwise they could have run into problems.

First Niroshan Dickwelle 77 (10 fours) and Janishka Premasinghe 22 promoted in batting put on 53 for the first wicket. Next Niroshan Dickwella and Kavinda Jayasuriya 30 put on 68 runs for the fourth wicket.

Trinity College: 197 (Niroshan Dickwella 77, Janishka Premasinghe 22, Kavinda Jayasuriya 30, Akila Jayasundara 40, Prabath Jayasuriya 7 for 73).

Lumbini MV: 116 for 7 (Jammikka Darana 23, Ashan Rusiru 20, Maduka Liyanapathirana 30, Aamil Anas 2 for 39).
