Police seek assistance to trace father

A five-year-old girl abandoned at Dalada Street in Kandy by her father was found by the police women’s bureau and produced before the Kandy Magistrate. The Magistrate ordered the girl to be admitted to a children’s home in Kandy.

This girl had come to Kandy with her father who had handed over the girl to a woman in Kandy town asking her to keep the child for a while and gone away, according to the police.

The Magistrate ordered the women’s bureau to hand her over to the Tikiri Children’s Home in Kandy.

Police sought public assistance to get details about the girl.
