Youth Parliament inaugural meeting

The inaugural meeting of the Youth Parliament will be held at the Maharagama Youth Centre hall next month after the conclusion of the forthcoming Local Council elections, said Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.

A total of 331 youth parliamentarians representing 331 divisional secretariat divisions in the country were elected to the Youth Parliament at the elections held on November 27 last year.

They have already been given a training in parliamentary procedure and laws and regulations. The proposed youth parliamentary complex will be built in Athungama Mihintale within the youth village for which a 68 acre plot of land has already been allocated.
