Colombo underworld gang members nabbed in Galewela

Four underworld characters from Colombo who visited Galewela in a three wheeler to commit the murder of a resident in the area on a Rs 200,000 contract were arrested by the Galewela Police along with two suspects who had given the contract to them on Thursday.

Police also seized a sword hidden inside the three wheeler. The underworld characters are from Dehiwala, Panadura, Borella, Orugodawatte and Grandpass.

On interrogation police also recovered Rs 195,000 given as part payment to the hirelings.

Investigations are continuing directed by S enior DIG Gamini Navaratne and SSP Tilak Abeysiriwardena.
