Infant's body found

A three-week old infant's body wrapped in cloth and put in a polythene bag was discovered from the rack of a CTB bus travelling from Colombo to Galenbindunuwewa. The CTB bus had started its journey at 11.30 am On February 11 from the Colombo Central bus depot and had to pass Galenbindunuwewa upto Kahatagasdigiliya. It reached Kahatagasdigiliya at 6.30 pm.

All passengers had got out of the bus when the bus driver discovered the bag with the body on the rack.

Anuradhapura Acting Magistrate Sajeeva Gunaratne ordered the Judicial Medical Officer to hold a post-mortem.
