Somali pirates seize Lankan fishing vessel

Another Sri Lankan multi-day fishing vessel with five crewmen on board was reportedly captured by Somali pirates.

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry sources yesterday said the fishing vessel Ocean 4 and its crewmen are now held by the pirates.

The vessel left from Beruwala on January 22. The crew members are identified as Chandra Pushpakumara Ranaweera, 53, Suhada Pushpakumara, 30, K L C Samantha, 36, Sarath Ranjith Perera and Lakshama Perera.
